I fortunately never experienced starving artist syndrome in the TV industry. In the summer of 1986, I moved from an apartment on Virginia’s James River to a converted brownstone in Brooklyn, NY. Through my friend Steve Ball, I landed a job writing and producing a show called “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,” which delved into the opulent residences and the glamorous lifestyles of the glitterati. That was my introduction to TV, which launched a sixteen-year career producing thousands of shows. Brutal workloads, but one heck of a ride.
