Bill Lancaster is a producer, professor, writer, and director. From New York City to Moscow to Mumbai to Shanghai, Lancaster has established himself as a major media player. For thirty years, Bill has produced and written for many networks in the United States, including NBC, CNBC, CBS, MTV, VH1, Bloomberg Business News, USA Network, The Travel Channel, and The Food Network, among other platforms.


Bill independently owns and operates Video Blender, a Boston-based media production company. Its productions range from documentaries concerning transatlantic slavery, the African Diaspora, hate crimes, and college depression to scripted drama and comedy features. Spearheaded by Bill, Video Blender productions appear in film festivals around the US year after year.


Bill's specialty has been his unmissable humor and wit, beginning with "Thoughts on the F Train," which brought readers a funny take on New York City. The column appeared in a Brooklyn newspaper and New York Newsday. From 2016 to 2019, Bill hosted the comedy podcast "The Wired Speakers" alongside his childhood friend Paul Todisco. The two toured around Boston Comedy Clubs, bringing their stories from Spotify to the people.


Bill lectures in the Department of Communication Studies at Northeastern University in Boston. He teaches the business of entertainment, the producer's role in content creation, and the art of storytelling. He began teaching at Northeastern University in September 2004. He has lectured at Boston University, The Tufts School of Medicine and Emerson College.


Bill is a sought-after speaker. Following his first international lecture series in China in 2012, Bill taught in Russia, India, Japan, The Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Finland. The Communications University in Beijing, The John-Hopkins Institute in Nanjing, The University of Mumbai, and RUDN University in Moscow are a few of the universities that have invited Professor Lancaster.
